Owners and residents of County Hall Apartments might be interested in the following information from Lambeth Council.

Lambeth Council has launched a consultation on the South Bank Spine Route, which aims to invest in the South Bank area, including Chicheley Street, Belvedere Road, Upper Ground and Concert Hall Approach. The aim is to improve the public realm, such as streets, pavements and open spaces, which are used by thousands of people every day.

Lambeth state that they now “want to work with the local community, who can add real value in helping to shape the planning and design of the improvements and we want to invite you to share your views on emerging proposals”.

If you wish to participate, you can complete their survey here.

The following 13 1/2 minute video provides a summary of the scope of the proposals, including redevelopment of both Chicheley Street and Belvedere Road.

The South Bank Spine Route serves a diverse mix of pedestrian, public and private vehicle users. It is a main crossing point from Waterloo Station to the many cultural institutions and businesses along the South Bank.

Lambeth Council has commissioned urban designers, landscape architects and planners LDA Design to develop detailed public realm designs, a masterplan and delivery plan. The project will run until March 2020.
